Yoast SEO For WordPress Tutorial – Setup Guide For Beginners 2018

This is a tutorial for the Yoast “SEO for WordPress” plugin. I’m going to start from the beginning where we install the plugin and walk you through all the different steps in the configuration wizard and my recommendations for each one.

I’ve been using the Yoast SEO plugin on all of my websites and it is my go-to plugin for SEO.

The first thing we’ll do is get the plugin installed using the built-in WordPress plugin installer. Just a couple of clicks and it’ll be installed…no technical stuff here.

Then we’ll dive into the plugin configuration wizard settings where I’ll give a brief description of what each setting does. The configuration wizard makes it super easy and you don’t have to worry about needing to know all the technical SEO terms and what they do. It asks you simple questions and you select the answer that best describes your website.

Once we get the plugin configured, I create a quick post so I can show you the information the plugin displays on the content page in the meta box. This area is where you will find information and recommendations regarding the content you created and how SEO-friendly it is. The recommendations are not required, but they are pretty good guidelines for producing quality content.

You’ll also be able to change some of the default settings to apply specifically to the post/page you are editing, such as adding information that gets used by Facebook and Twitter posts.

After watching this video, you should have all of your basic SEO needs met, then it’s time to start creating content!

Thanks for watching!
