Hi, So do I need a blog on my website to keep google happy?

Consistently creating good content on a blog is probably the most ‘white hat’ way of doing SEO. You need to make sure that the topics you’re writing about are actually being searched though, otherwise you’ll be wasting your time and effort. What have you tried for SEO so far?

It’s a crock. All the lessons about SEO are going to pull you down.
Yoast and the other SEO plugins, are just to not let you pass a certain threshold in authority.

      Hi Shanti,

Yoast is just a tool to make things easier. SEO boils down to creating good content that people want to read and getting quality backlinks to it.

If your content is great then there’s less work in getting backlinks.

You can take the on-page SEO checklist that the Yoast plugin adds to the WordPress page editor and manually make sure that you checking all the boxes on the checklist. This is how I used to do it for many years, Yoast just made it faster and easier.

The core concept of Neil’s video is about writing. All I do for SEO is write or have content written for me and make sure my on-page SEO is solid. I just use Yoast because it helps go faster and let’s outsourcers do acceptable SEO.

Do you have a post you could link to about the troubles with the Yoast plugin?

How do we SEO without yoast?

I was thinking this. I’m a beginner but this seems to be a theme in the systems that have been set up.
