When you have a great piece of content that is driving traffic to your website, the best thing to do is build on that momentum. Create more content that is similar. About 1/8 to 1/10 of your content will end up being popular — the trick is you must create and publish content on a regular basis to see what is driving traffic.

Losing momentum is bad for SEO. When you don’t publish for months or years, your competitors continue to build up their content, and eventually, they will rank for more keywords than you. They are giving themselves more chances to rank.
