In this video I go over one way to find keywords for a listing by using the etsy search suggestions. Keep in mind that the search bar doesn’t show you popular searches, it just shows recent searches, so you need to research the keywords that come up in it.

Hey Kara, does it matter if your tags make sense? Should I type them how they would be typed in search or does it really matter? Like one tag being “Goth Gothic” and have the word “gift” attached somewhere else, or would “Goth Gifts” and Gothic Gift” be better.
It doesn’t matter if they make sense, but if you can make them make sense that’s probably better for exact-order word matches. If it’s a matter of repeating the word “gift,” though, I’d research which one is better “gothic gift” or “goth gift,” then put them all on one tag to save space. So if “goth gift” is better, make one tag say “gothic goft gift” so that the word order will be found that way. I hope that makes sense!
