Does anyone at Google even understand their own code anymore? For many, this is a question for technology to solve. But when I heard my guest, Matt, bring up the topic, it sounded far more philosophical than technological – do we understand what it means (the code, if you will) to be human?

“We don’t really know how the internal workings of it work, but if you apply some inputs and you can look at the outputs in a systematized way, and run some single variable tests like a true scientist, then you will be able to infer patterns and figure out things with regards to their algorithm.” – Matt Diggity

This is Matt talking about understanding Google’s code and the process by which he understands how to better optimize website search engine results.

But that sounds more like a description of life.

Matt Diggity is a location-independent entrepreneur, focused on search engine optimization (SEO). He is the host of the Chiang Mai SEO Conference, blogs at DiggityMarketing.com, and is the founder of businesses LeadSpring, Authority Builders, and The Search Initiative.

And while he is a true scientist in his work – from testing, improving, validating, and so on… His spirit of action is much more Platonic than Aristotelian, as I observe.

“Value is not a scientific question.”
